2026 Seattle DRAFT Plans and Specs comment period
The City of Seattle is conducting a 60-day interdepartmental and public comment period from November 7 to January 7, 2026, for our 2026 Proposed DRAFT Standard Specifications and Standard Plans for Municipal Construction.
The City’s “Plans and Specs,” as they are often called, apply whenever any public or private construction is performed in the City of Seattle’s Right of Way. These Construction Standards also serve as the primary contract documents for public works construction contracts.
The comment period for the PROPOSED 2026 edition has ended. Comments received will be considered for inclusion in the 2026 edition as time allows for Signatory Department review and approval. The Signatory Departments for the City of Seattle Construction Standards are: Finance and Administrative Services, Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle City Light, Seattle Public Utilities, Seattle Parks and Recreation, and the Seattle Center as shown on the inside front cover. Otherwise, comments received may be used for future General Special Provisions in City Contracts, published as Amendments to the 2026 edition or rejected. The 2026 edition will be published on-line and in hard copy form at the end of February 2026.
