Hubbard Homestead Sports Court & Play Area Renovation

Summer 2026
Seattle Parks and Recreation will begin construction on a new sports court at Hubbard Homestead Park beginning June 1, 2026. The improved facility will feature an expanded court with basketball hoops and goals at each end, providing greater opportunities for outdoor recreation. Construction is expected to be completed by late July 2026.
This project was made possible through a partnership with One Roof Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Seattle Kraken and Climate Pledge Arena.
The new aeronautical themed play area at Hubbard Homestead opened in March! Stop by the park to swing, climb, slide and explore!

Project Description
Sports Court Renovation
The Kraken One Roof Foundation is funding a court upgrade that will expand the existing basketball court surface and install a new combined goal for street hockey and basketball.
Play Area Renovation
This project developed a new play area with playground equipment that serves children of all ages and abilities. Improvements also included fall surfacing, seating, storm water mitigation and limited landscape improvements. The play area opened in March.
