The Specialized Programs unit of Seattle Parks and Recreation offers year-round activities for people with disabilities. The purpose is to provide recreational opportunities for individuals who may choose to participate in activities specifically designed and conducted by trained staff to best meet their needs. We offer:
- Adult Day Programs
- Teen and Young Adult Afterschool Programs
- Youth Weekend Programs and Trips
- Summer Day Camps
- Fitness Programs
- Specialty Classes such as Adaptive Dance
The programs are particularly suited to people with a range of cognitive and physical disabilities . The Specialized Programs staff will also work with individuals or family members who would prefer to integrate into other Department programs but need some type of accommodation such as an interpreter.

Specialized Programs Youth Summer Camps 2026
Specialized Programs offers Day Camp for ages 4-21, and Overnight Camp for ages 6-21.
Summer Camp registration is now open. Due to the nature of camps, several forms must be completed and mailed in. We accept DDCS Respite funds if applicable.
Please complete the Specialized Programs Camp Registration Form and the Specialized Programs Participant Information Form and mail to:

Scholarships (Financial Aid)
Scholarships may be available to those who qualify using proof of income.
Seattle Adaptive Sports
Seattle Parks and Recreation Specialized Programs is proud to partner with Seattle Adaptive Sports.
Seattle Adaptive Sports' mission is to enable people with disabilities to push beyond their limits and realize their full potential, using adaptive sports as a vehicle for personal growth.
