Strategic Direction

Seattle Information Technology (Seattle IT)'s mission is to use technology and innovation to address Seattle's most pressing challenges and priorities, which include Public Safety, Housing and Homelessness, the Health and Wellness of Seattle's residents, and a Thriving Seattle that brings economic opportunity to our city's residents. This direction was established under former Mayor Bruce Harrell. We expect this to be updated with Mayor Wilson's priorities, along with new Seattle IT leadership, in the coming months.

Emerging technologies and risks -- such as artificial intelligence, advancing cybersecurity threats, data science, sensing technologies, misinformation campaigns, new productivity, and collaboration solutions -- present transformative opportunities to enhance our teams and serve our community, as well as moments to lead the responsible use of technologies as they affect the most vulnerable of us.
