Public Safety Registers

The PSCSC oversees the creation of registers for qualified candidates from which the police and fire chief consider for hire and promotion. Registers are ranked based on test scores and applicable preference points -- veterans’ preference points (all candidates),  or language and community preference points (police candidates only). 

Reinstatement to the eligible register

Former employees may request to be added to the reinstatement to the eligible register, subject to meeting qualified criteria under PSCSC Rule 10.03 and final decision by the appointing authority (Police or Fire Chief).
