Ballard

The Ballard Regional Center is the newest of Seattle’s seven designated Regional Centers, as outlined in Seattle’s Comprehensive Plan. Ballard is home to a vibrant retail scene, local historic district, and many regional destinations, including music venues, Ballard Locks, and the National Nordic Museum. The Regional Center is also adjacent to an active Manufacturing and Industrial Center (MIC).

Key issues that will be addressed in the Ballard Regional Center Plan include planning for growth by addressing residential compatibility that is adjacent to, but not within, the MIC, connecting people living, working, and visiting the neighborhood, support for small businesses, and accessible and affordable housing.
