Dependent Eligibility Reverification Process | March 9 – May 4, 2026

During the week of March 9, 2026, employees who have enrolled a dependent before January 1, 2024, will receive a reverification letter from Alight Solutions. The reverification goal is to verify that dependents covered on our health plans are still eligible.

Benefits are an important part of your total City compensation, and we want every eligible dependent to stay on City benefits. If you would like assistance or support with the letter, please let Alight Solutions know. Alight Solutions can offer Language Line services if you would prefer to talk with them in a language other than English. They will also translate your non-English documentation, if needed.

This process will confirm that currently covered dependents—spouses, domestic partners, stepchildren, and children of domestic partners—remain eligible for coverage.

Please review all communications from Alight Solutions carefully. You may be asked to provide proof of financial partnership with your spouse or domestic partner, such as:

  • 2023 or 2024 tax return, or
  • Mortgage, bank, credit card, or auto loan statement dated within the last six months, or
  • Active lease agreement

Documentation listing your spouse or domestic partner will also verify stepchildren or a domestic partner’s children. Marriage and birth certificates previously submitted do not need to be resubmitted.

We recommend gathering materials as soon as possible. The deadline to submit any required documentation is May 4, 2026

For questions, contact Alight Solutions using the phone number provided in your letter. Thank you for your patience with the process, managing City benefit resources wisely.
