Request Public Records from the Legislative Department

The Legislative Department is Seattle City Council, Council staff, and the Office of the City Clerk.

Tip: Many of our records are available online and through research assistance without submitting a Public Disclosure Request. See Online Records and Research Assistance below.

3. For Select an Agency, choose Legislative Branch
4. Follow the on-screen directions to complete your request

Online Records and Research Assistance

Legislative records and research assistance are available at no charge. Records include:

• Ordinances and council bills
• Resolutions
• Council minutes
• Council agendas
• Archival material

Records held by the Seattle Municipal Archives are open to the public and available for research during business hours.

Appeal a Denied Public Records Request

To petition the review of any denied public record, submit a written request to:
